When and how did you start out?
I’ve been sailing and skiing since I could walk – always exploring new ways to move around. I took a kite course on snow in Norway 10 years ago – it was terrifying. The course took place during a super strong storm, and the strong forces of nature had control over me. I wanted to change it. Now I have. The wind, kite and I are now a team. We travel together, on water or snow – we play, challenge each other and find new places together.
There are no greatest moment with my kite. There are so many of them and they are all precious in their own special way. But, then – kiting under the northern lights in Norway on snow, or cruising across the Atlantic ocean under the moonlight and having phosphorescence lighting up the spray from my surfboard is pretty high up on the list. But in general – it’s about the people I get to share these experiences with. Doing it all alone wouldn’t have been the same.
What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time? Don’t really know if I have any. I might sit and watch a movie or have dinner and drinks with great friends, but my head is still always working on a plan for a new expedition or adventure. I guess it´s like that when you are as fortunate as I have been – to have my spare time be my work of living.
Favorite dish. Tuna Tataki Tarifa style. The kind that just melts on the tongue, and with just enough wasabe to spice it up!
